The Kolbus Boxer BX200 is a versatile, easy-to-use and very compact machine that allows the production of custom-made corrugated boxes on demand, making it eminently suitable for companies that offer products of different sizes and whose quantities shipped are constantly changing.
The machine starts up in a minute and can be learned in even less time by a single operator! With a few clicks on the touch screen, you will have access to over 40 styles of customisable boxes. Then all you have to do is enter the dimensions of your products to obtain a box model perfectly suited to your needs. Jobs can be pre-programmed from the production office. Minimal machine downtime is required for format changes, with adjustments fully automated and controlled by servomotor, giving you greater precision and quality boxes equivalent to mass production.
Neil Southerington of Graffica, the Australian agent for the Boxer BX200, says: “There are many advantages to installing one of these machines inhouse. Not only will you eliminate box inventory and racking, freeing up valuable space in your warehouse, but also optimise the cubic volume of your ‘DIM Weight’ shipments thus reducing your costs. A further reduction in costs comes with the elimination of void fill. This also ensures better protection of your products with the right-sized boxes eliminating empty spaces.
“Oversize generic boxes may initially seem cheap, but freight costs increase, you may lose a whole layer on a pallet, or you may have to use and pay for void fill. Having independence from box deliveries from specialised suppliers, means no time is lost with your own deliveries. Problems that may arise in the event of suddenly reduced or increased production are eliminated. And as Kolbus supplies ethernet factory connection and support, assistance is always on hand.”
Available options
The Boxer delivers a high level of flexibility and customisation. By adding additional modules, the capacities of the machine can be further increased. Kolbus AutoBox offers a series of additional services such as an automated feed table for fast insertion of cardboard sheets; slot blades in various lengths and formats; ProMelt for hot glue and ProGluer, for cold gluing for larger productions; remote connection and control software; Digi-Print for digital printing in one or two-colours on several sides of the box.
“Those taking up the Boxer solution in ANZ are the main P.O.S companies, printing companies – IVE Group has three, warehouse/distribution centres and anyone that fulfils multiple orders daily in different sizes,” observes Neil Southerington. “Whether for small or large volumes, the Kolbus BX200 will allow you to create boxes perfectly adjusted to your needs, which will protect the integrity of your products, generate savings and reduce your environmental footprint.”
