At the recent FPLMA Awards presentation held at the Crown in Melbourne, Ultra Labels scored three medals for technical excellence. The Queensland supplier of tailored labelling and flexible packaging solutions won both gold and silver awards in the Digital – Flexible Packaging class and a further gold in the Innovation – Labels and Tags category.
The gold-winning entry in the Digital – Flexible Packaging sector was created for Drip by Armd. This eye-catching label uses CMYKW colour on a silver substrate coupled with a high-build gloss finish to accentuate the focal point of the design. The overall effect contributes to a premium feel for the brand.
The silver medal was awarded to Mt Wilder Berries stand-up pouches. The foil packaging material is printed with CYMK on premium white and then finished with a thermal matt laminate. This finish protects the integrity of the design for the life of the product.
Ultra Labels scored the second gold medal for the Jurassic Natural Queensland Rainforest pouch. The high-resolution imagery renders beautifully due to digital print technology. CYMK and premium white were used to achieve opacity on the transparent substrate. Lastly, a thermal gloss laminate finish adds overall polish and visual impact.
The winning entry in each category will now enter internationally recognised packaging competitions, including the World Label Awards.
“This is a testament to Ultra’s commitment to consistently produce outstanding labels and flexible packaging for our clients. I would like to congratulate the whole team on this tremendous result,” said Ross Fursey, Managing Director, Ultra Labels.
