At this year’s Visual Impact show Epson’s theme was ‘Say Yes to Success’ as the company demonstrated that the more solutions you offer your clients, the more work you can take on. Epson showed companies how to reduce their equipment footprint in smaller spaces and exhibited the breadth and flexibility of their waste-reducing print products and solutions.
Epson Australia MD, Craig Heckenberg notes that due to the impact of Covid-19, businesses have opted to bring more print back to Australia. “As a result, and to help businesses embrace this change, we have further expanded our print range to provide a solution for any requirement.
Of interest to the packaging market was the Epson SureColor V7000. Leveraging Epson’s decades of colour and imaging expertise, the UV flatbed printer is powered by no less than eight PrecisionCore printheads and a new UltraChrome UV ink to deliver outstanding print quality and low cost of ownership.
The printer supports many types of media including paper, film, board, Corflute, vinyl, canvas, aluminium, timber and acrylic measuring up to 1.25 x 2.50 metres with a thickness of up to 80mm. A media height sensor and layout pins make for easy set-up/alignment, while the provision of Epson EMX profiles containing the settings and ICC profiles for many Media & Mode combinations also allows for rapid configuration.
The SureColor V7000 supports flexible production with four separate print zones. The eight-colour inks are applied with Variable Sized Dot Technology to enable output with an extremely wide gamut and fine gradation. Additional White ink and Varnish can be applied as a layer and/or a spot colour for enhanced application support, image expression and finish quality.
“Epson is also striving to further reduce wastage and water requirements. For example, we are placing more emphasis on inherently more efficient digital print processes for natural and synthetic fibres alike,” Craig Heckenberg adds.
