The 18th Label Industry Global Awards are calling for leading innovators to make their submissions to the highest accolade in the label and packaging industry by May 5. Six awards will recognise those who have excelled in the sector through innovation and best practices in 2022.
As the oldest award, the R. Stanton Avery Achievement Award, sponsored by Avery Dennison, reflects the values and vision of Stan Avery and his innovative breakthroughs that founded the label industry. This award recognises an individual who has made a key contribution to the promotion and growth of the label industry and has been a high-profile industry influencer and motivator.
This year, Avery Dennison is sponsoring a new award, the R Stanton Avery Team Achievement Award, recognising the importance of teamwork in achieving a company’s objectives. It is open to teams of between five and 15 people, who have been involved in the development of a new service or working method emphasising innovation, sustainability and team interaction. This award is open to industry suppliers, converters and end users.
The R. Stanton Avery Rising Star Award honours an emerging talent in the label and package printing field who has the potential to become a future leader.
The Sustainability Award is given for a specific sustainable product – for example, a new press, ink or substrate – or process – such as new methods of working in a more sustainable way – introduced by a supplier or converter in the label industry during 2022.
The Innovation Award is divided into two categories based on company size – up to 300 employees or over 300 employees. Entries must describe a specific innovation in a new product or process developed by a supplier or converter company in 2022. The entry will be judged by the degree of innovation compared to existing products and processes; its practical impact on the wider labels and packaging industry; and specific benefits in terms of cost, time, process efficiency and sustainability.
The Converter of the Year Award recognises a printing or converting company that has encouraged a diverse and inclusive work environment, developed a comprehensive training programme and contributed to community/charity initiatives.
The finalists and the winner of the R. Stanton Avery Achievement Award will be announced in June. All winners will be revealed at a gala dinner to be held at Brussels Expo on the first night of Labelexpo Europe 2023, Monday 11 September.
