Steven Richards, Channel Manager – Label Solutions at OKI Data Australia, was busy on the Gulmen Digital stand demonstrating the PRO-1050. The compact label printer uses digital LED together with dry toner technology and offers a unique fifth colour or ‘CMYK+1’ option, allowing for greater flexibility.
The white toner option provides flexibility across a range of media and can be used to print an opaque white background under the CMYK image as a background on transparent or coloured label media including paper, film, plain and glossy labels, textured papers and synthetics. It is also perfect for labels placed on glass or even metallised media.
The LED dry toner technology delivers a high resistance to environmental impact, making labels water, temperature and UV resistant. This quality is useful when labels are printed for products exposed to different temperatures, light or even outdoor conditions. It is ideal for the chemical industry and horticulture, where labels require a standard of resistance to different substances and durability. The high-quality labels can be also used in the cosmetic industry, food, beverage, electrical devices and the like.
“We’ve had a lot of success with the OKI PRO-1050 because customers are looking for a compact, desktop machine to interface with the GD240 finishing unit marketed by our partner Gulmen Digital. This represents an end-to-end solution for a label printer at an affordable cost,” said Richards.
“The OKI PRO-1050 is easy to configure and cost-effective to manage, making printing jobs simpler. It provides manufacturers and small businesses the ability to offer on-demand, short-run colour label printing services that can drive new revenue streams.”
